Scientific and research activities
The scientific and research activities of the Team are focused on:
- modelling and design of information systems with service-oriented architecture,
- issues of software design, implementation, testing and quality assessment,
- problems of modelling and standardisation of geospatial data and services and construction of spatial information infrastructure,
- data mining,
- safety engineering and systems reliability,
- modelling, analysis and synthesis, and performance evaluation of dynamic systems and cyclic processes,
- distributed information systems using multi-agent techniques,
- biomolecular calculations,
- machine learning.
List of own grants funded by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education managed by the Team's staff in recent years:
- Methods for analysing unfitness trees with time dependencies for real-time systems, 2007-2009,
- Methods and tools for performance engineering of service-oriented systems, 2008-2010,
- Methodology for predicting breeding effects in a selected biological population using data mining methods, 2010-2012,
- Use of metadata and semantic networks for the retrieval, integration and verification of official data having a temporal-spatial aspect, 2010-2013.
Didactics
The team's employees teach the core and major courses in the fundamentals of computer science and software engineering, as well as in the specialisations of Information Systems Engineering and Internet Engineering. Classes taught include:
- Software engineering,
- Data structures and computational complexity,
- Designing efficient algorithms.
